Samsung Brings Google Photos to Tizen TVs in 2026 with AI Features

Samsung has officially announced that Tizen-based Smart TVs will support the Google Photos app in 2026, marking a significant move in the smart TV market. While Android TV and Google TV have long supported Google apps, full Google Photos integration on non-Android platforms has been limited until now
Key Features
- Seamless sync: Photos and videos from smartphones will sync directly to the TV.
- Smart organization: Google Photos will categorize memories by people, locations, and important moments.
- Integration with TV UI: Photos will appear on Samsung’s Daily+ and Daily Board platforms. Setting up is simple just sign in with a Google account.
Phased Rollout
Samsung plans a three-phase rollout for Google Photos features:
- Memories (March 2026): Exclusive to Samsung TVs for six months. Displays curated stories based on people, places, and meaningful moments.
- Create with AI (Late 2026): Features templates powered by Nano Banana and Remix tools to transform photos into videos or artistic styles.
- Personalized Results: Allows searches and slideshows based on keywords such as locations, events, or cities.

Device Support
The feature will initially roll out on new Samsung TV models launching in 2026, with older Tizen TVs receiving updates according to the OS schedule. Users must have a Google account and photos/videos backed up to Google Photos to access all functionality.
This move emphasizes Samsung’s commitment to enhancing smart TV experiences and leveraging AI-powered tools to bring personal content to the big screen seamlessly.
