VALORANT Reveals Veto, the Ultimate Sentinel Who Neutralizes All Abilities

VALORANT Unleashes Veto, the Skill-Canceling Sentinel Who Trusts Only Bullets

Riot Games has officially unveiled Veto, the newest Sentinel agent in VALORANT, hailing from Senegal and built to break the meta. With a power born from mutation, Veto’s defining ability is to nullify enemy technology and abilities entirely, stripping combat down to pure skill, precision, and firepower. Revealed at the VALORANT Champions Finals in Paris, Veto will be available for all players starting October 7, 2025.

Born from a powerful genetic mutation, Veto embodies Riot’s goal of challenging ability-reliant playstyles and empowering players to hold defensive lines with confidence. “Veto was designed to help teams hold their ground, especially when facing heavy ability usage,” explained Nicholas Smith, VALORANT’s game designer. “His toolkit gives players powerful tools to control space and defend sites with confidence, even under intense pressure.”

Veto’s Abilities

Chokehold – Throws a mutagen trap that immobilizes enemies, applying Deafen and Decay. The trap can be destroyed before activation.

Crosscut – Deploys a vortex marker that Veto can teleport back to. The marker can be retrieved and repositioned during the Buy Phase.

Interceptor – Places a device that destroys any utility that bounces or must be shot to activate. Enemies can destroy the device.

Evolution (Ultimate) – Veto fully transforms, gaining increased attack speed, health regeneration, and immunity to all debuffs and ability damage — only bullets and projectile weapons can harm him.

“When enemies see Veto activate his ultimate, it changes how they engage completely,” Nicholas added. “He can’t be stopped by any skill. Only pinpoint accuracy can take him down.”

Veto also arrives with exclusive Battle Gear, including the Mutagenesis Gun Buddy, The Deep End Player Card, and the Enforcer Sheriff Sidearm for collectors.

VALORANT players should prepare for a seismic meta shift as Veto redefines the term “shoot to win” — a Sentinel who brings the fight back to raw aim and tactical mastery.
