Kingdom Come 2 Photo Mode Trick Punishes Sneaks

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II has found a funny way to stop players from abusing Photo Mode during stealth.

Because the game uses a first-person view, Photo Mode could give players an unfair advantage.

Players could move the camera around and check areas that Henry of Skalitz should not be able to see.

The development team knew this could become a problem, so they added a clever punishment.

Photo Mode can expose sneaky players

Lead game designer Prokop Jirsa told PC Gamer that the team wanted Photo Mode to stay useful and beautiful.

However, they did not want players using it to scout enemy routes unfairly.

The problem was simple.

Players could open Photo Mode, rotate the camera, inspect guard positions, then return to gameplay with extra information.

That would make stealth easier in a way the game did not intend.

Henry speaks after taking photos

The solution is both smart and ridiculous.

After players exit Photo Mode, Henry may say something aloud about the photo.

For example, he might comment on how beautiful the view looks.

However, that voice line plays inside the actual game world.

This means nearby guards can hear him.

If players use Photo Mode while hiding, Henry’s sudden comment may alert enemies and ruin the stealth attempt.

A clever anti-cheat joke

Jirsa said the team saw this as a clever fix.

It prevents unfair camera abuse while also creating funny moments players can share online.

The idea turns Photo Mode from a risk-free scouting tool into something players must use carefully.

That makes the system feel playful without fully disabling it.

Players are already sharing stories

The article also mentions that this funny situation has already happened to players.

One Reddit user reportedly shared a story about using Photo Mode while watching birds near the bathhouse in Kuttenberg.

After leaving Photo Mode, Henry loudly praised the photo.

The guards heard him, woke up, and the player had to run away.

About Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a medieval RPG currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and Epic Games Store.

The game focuses on grounded medieval role-playing, immersive systems, and realistic consequences.

This Photo Mode trick fits that design philosophy surprisingly well.

Even taking a nice picture can become dangerous if Henry says the wrong thing at the wrong time.

This is exactly the kind of small design choice that makes Kingdom Come: Deliverance II memorable. Instead of banning Photo Mode during stealth, the game lets players use it, then makes Henry loudly betray them like the worst medieval influencer alive.
