Mamon King by Streamer Yoshinama Recoups Investment Within a Month

Japanese streamer Yoshinama has turned a personal dream into reality with Mamon King, an indie game focused on monster training and combat, recouping his $160,000 investment within just one month of release.

From Passion Project to Full Release

Developed by the team LiTMUS and primarily funded by Yoshinama himself, Mamon King began as a personal project rather than a calculated business plan. Despite having limited development experience, Yoshinama’s commitment and hands-on involvement convinced LiTMUS to collaborate on the project.

Sales Figures that Exceed Expectations

Mamon King achieved remarkable success in December 2025, selling 60,000 copies within the first 10 days, temporarily topping the Steam Japan Top Sellers chart. The game also ranked among the most downloaded titles on My Nintendo Store Japan, eventually surpassing 80,000 units sold in the first month—enough to fully recoup Yoshinama’s initial investment.

Reinvesting in the Next Project

Rather than taking profits, Yoshinama plans to reinvest all revenue from Mamon King into developing his next game. In a recent update, he stated:

“As long as I have the resources, I want to keep making games until the day I die.”

Next Game Promises Bigger Ambitions

Although details remain under wraps, Yoshinama confirmed that the upcoming project will involve larger investment, more complete design, and higher quality than Mamon King. Preliminary plans aim to begin development in about 18 months, with an official reveal expected within 3–4 years. It remains unclear whether this will be a sequel or an entirely new intellectual property.

A Story Beyond Numbers

Mamon King’s success is more than just sales—it exemplifies a creator pursuing passion over convention. Yoshinama’s journey shows that clarity of vision and disciplined execution can sustain creative ambition, proving that the power of a dream is measured not by applause but by personal commitment and perseverance.
