007 First Light Features 20-Hour Campaign and Free Post-Launch Missions

007 First Light Main Campaign Will Last Around 20 Hours

007 First Light is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated James Bond games in years, especially with IO Interactive leading development.

Now, new details about the game’s campaign length and post-launch content have officially surfaced.

A 20-Hour James Bond Adventure

According to popular YouTuber JorRaptor, who recently spoke with the development team, 007 First Light will feature a main story campaign lasting approximately 20 hours from start to finish.

That runtime reportedly includes:

  • Story gameplay
  • Cinematic cutscenes
  • Action sequences
  • Driving and chase segments
  • Stealth and combat missions

For a modern action-adventure title, the length appears to strike a balance between cinematic storytelling and replayability.

Inspired by HITMAN’s Replayability

Fans familiar with IO Interactive’s HITMAN trilogy will recognize some familiar design ideas in 007 First Light.

Much like HITMAN, the game will include:

  • Modifier systems
  • Replay-focused mission structures
  • Sandbox-style objectives
  • Multiple approaches to encounters

This means players can continue experimenting with different strategies even after completing the main campaign.

Free Post-Launch Missions Planned

The developers also confirmed that additional free missions will be added post-launch through the game’s Tactical Simulator mode.

This mode focuses on:

  • Score-based challenges
  • Competitive leaderboards
  • Replayable mission content
  • Tactical gameplay experimentation

Players will be able to compete globally while testing different playstyles and mission approaches.

About 007 First Light

007 First Light is an action game developed using IO Interactive’s proprietary Glacier Technology engine.

The story follows a younger James Bond during his early recruitment into MI6, before becoming the legendary 00 agent.

Players will experience Bond’s transformation from air force recruit to elite secret agent through sandbox-inspired missions and cinematic action gameplay.

Release Platforms

The game is scheduled to launch on May 27 for:

  • PlayStation 5
  • Xbox Series X|S
  • PC

A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also planned for release later this summer.
