Assassin’s Creed Shadows Gets Final Content Update with New Ending and Quests
Ubisoft has officially released update 1.1.11 for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, marking an important milestone for the game. According to the source, this update is considered the final major content update before Ubisoft shifts support toward the next upcoming entry in the franchise.
The new update brings several meaningful additions for existing players, including a new ending, extra quests, unlockable skins for the two main characters, and new content connected to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

Black Cross Arrives in Japan
The new story content introduces the Black Cross, a Templar group that travels to Japan to hunt both Naoe and Yasuke.
Players can unlock this additional episode after completing the main story content for both characters. They also need to clear the quests A Critical Encounter and A Puzzlement before accessing the new content.
This gives players who already finished the main campaign a new reason to return, especially since the added questline connects to the wider Assassin’s Creed universe.
Animus HUB Adds Riptides and Undertold
The update also adds new content through the Animus HUB.
Players can access new activities called Riptides and Undertold, which allow them to unlock crossover skins connected to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
These rewards include new skins for the game’s protagonists. However, the source notes that one of Naoe’s skins from Riptides and Undertold will not be unlocked for Nintendo Switch 2 devices.
Domains Mode Adds More Action RPG Content
Another key addition is Domains, a new content mode with an action RPG structure.
In Domains, players complete missions, collect points, and use those points to upgrade their abilities. Playing at higher difficulty levels gives players a better chance to unlock stronger rewards, while mission conditions also become more complex.
This mode gives the final update more replay value, especially for players who want structured combat challenges and progression beyond the main story.
Bug Fixes and Stability Improvements
Aside from new content, update 1.1.11 also includes bug fixes and stability improvements.
While these changes may not sound as exciting as a new ending or questline, they still matter for players who continue exploring the game after finishing the main campaign.
A smoother experience helps make the final content update feel more complete, especially for a major open-world title.
Available Platforms
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
The game takes players to Japan and follows two main protagonists: Naoe, a shinobi assassin, and Yasuke, an African warrior connected to historical figure Oda Nobunaga.
This final major update gives Assassin’s Creed Shadows a stronger sendoff. A new ending, additional quests, Black Flag-linked crossover content, and the Domains mode all give returning players a reason to jump back in. It also feels like Ubisoft is using this update to bridge Shadows with the wider franchise while preparing fans for what comes next.
