Discord and Microsoft have expanded their long-running partnership with a major new subscription benefit.

Discord Nitro members now get access to Xbox Game Pass Starter Edition in supported regions. This new benefit comes through Nitro Rewards and adds more gaming value to the standard Nitro membership.

Discord says Nitro members can download and play the included library as part of their Nitro membership, where available.

The Verge reports that the lineup includes titles such as Fallout 4, Stardew Valley, DayZ, and Grounded. The benefit also includes 10 hours per month of Xbox Cloud Gaming streaming.

How Starter Edition Differs From Core

Xbox Game Pass Starter Edition appears similar to Game Pass Core in some ways.

Eligible Nitro members can stream supported games for up to 10 hours per month. Discord says cloud gaming hours count from the moment a streaming session starts. The hours reset at the beginning of each calendar month.

However, heavy cloud gaming users may still need a higher tier. 10 hours per month works better as a starter benefit than a full-time cloud gaming plan.

The Verge reports that Nitro members also receive monthly Orbs, Discord’s in-app currency. These can be used for rewards such as avatar decorations and in-game bonuses.

Nitro members also get discounts from gaming accessory brands. These include up to 30% off at Logitech G, 15% at SteelSeries, and 20% at KontrolFreek.

The benefit is available only in supported regions.
