World of Slime Launches on Mobile and PC in December 2026

Introduction

TEAM42 has announced that World of Slime, its upcoming casual monster-taming MMORPG, is scheduled to launch on mobile devices and PC in December 2026.

The free-to-play adventure will support cross-platform play, allowing mobile and PC players to explore the same colorful world together. PC users will also be able to try a playable demo through Steam in August 2026, ahead of the full release.

A Cute MMORPG Built Around Collecting Slimes

World of Slime places players in a world transformed by the sudden appearance of mutant slimes. People have gathered in protected villages, while adventurers use a special ability to capture the wild creatures found beyond their settlements.

Instead of treating slimes as basic enemies, the game makes them the central companions of the adventure. Players can collect different species, strengthen their bonds, and bring selected slimes into exploration, combat, and puzzle-solving activities.

The game is being promoted as a free-to-play MMORPG without traditional gacha-based slime collection. Its official Steam listing nevertheless confirms that it will contain in-game purchases, although TEAM42 has not yet detailed the full monetization structure.

Capture Slimes Through Exploration, Fishing, and Synthesis

Players will have several ways to expand their slime collection. Wild slimes can be captured while exploring different areas, while other species may be discovered through fishing or created using the game’s synthesis system.

Synthesis allows players to combine slimes and materials to produce new varieties that may not normally appear in the wild. This system encourages experimentation as players search for unusual combinations and attempt to complete their collection.

The slimes available in the world can also change according to the location and time of day. Players may therefore need to revisit areas under different conditions to encounter species they previously missed.

Record Every Discovery in the Slimepedia

Every newly discovered slime is recorded in the Slimepedia, which functions as the game’s creature encyclopedia and long-term collection record.

Capturing additional slimes and developing stronger relationships with them increases the player’s knowledge. This progression can unlock useful adventure skills and reveal stronger hidden functions within individual slime companions.

The system means that studying and bonding with slimes may be just as important as increasing their combat strength. Players who invest time in completing the Slimepedia could gain additional options for exploration and party development.

Slimes Are More Than Ordinary Pets

Slimes can provide practical assistance throughout the journey. Certain companions can be ridden across water, pull sleds through difficult terrain, remove environmental obstacles, or activate abilities required to reach previously inaccessible locations.

They can also fight alongside the player and respond to commands during encounters. Powerful wild slimes may be hunted as dangerous enemies or captured and turned into new allies.

Individual slime abilities will also play an important role in environmental puzzles. Selecting the correct companion may open routes to new areas or help players resolve problems affecting villagers and other non-playable characters.

Explore the World With Other Players

As an MMORPG, World of Slime includes real-time online activities designed for groups of players.

Friends will be able to explore together, exchange information about slime locations, participate in cooperative hunts, and create parties built around different companion combinations. The game will also include competitive battles, with both one-versus-one and team-based PvP modes listed among its planned features.

TEAM42’s early presentations have additionally shown casual life-skill activities alongside combat and exploration. These systems are intended to offer quieter activities for players who do not want every session to revolve around fighting monsters or competing against other users.

Cross-Platform Mobile and PC Support

TEAM42 plans to release World of Slime on PC and mobile devices in December 2026. The developer has stated that the game will support cross-platform play, although details about shared accounts, progression synchronization, and regional servers have not yet been announced.

The PC version is currently available to wishlist through Steam. Its store page lists Windows 10, an Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB of RAM, a GeForce GTX 960 graphics card, and 20 GB of storage as the preliminary minimum requirements.

Official Google Play and App Store pages have not yet been published. Mobile pre-registration has been reported as potentially opening in November 2026, but players should treat that window as provisional until TEAM42 confirms it through its official channels.

Steam Demo Arrives in August 2026

Players will not have to wait until December to experience the game. TEAM42 plans to release a PC demo through Steam in August 2026.

The demo should provide an early opportunity to test the game’s slime-capturing, synthesis, exploration, and multiplayer systems. Its exact availability period, supported regions, and included content have not yet been announced.

Players interested in participating can add World of Slime to their Steam wishlist to receive platform notifications when the demo and full game become available.

World of Slime has a clear identity that separates it from more conventional MMORPGs. Turning collectible slimes into combat partners, transportation, puzzle-solving tools, and social companions gives the creature system a broader purpose than simply building a stronger battle roster.

The absence of conventional gacha-based slime collection could also make the game attractive to players who prefer progression through exploration and experimentation. However, TEAM42 still needs to explain its monetization, cross-platform account system, and long-term content structure before the full value of the experience can be assessed.
