Pragmata Dev Reveals Why Hacking Took So Long

Pragmata has become one of the most talked-about new franchises after passing 2 million copies sold in less than a month.
The game had a long development cycle after its first reveal. It also went through an indefinite delay, which made many players worry about its status.
Now, the picture looks clearer.
The concept was not the main issue
Director Cho Yonghee explained that the game’s story and concept did not change much from the early stage.
That means the long wait did not come from a complete creative reset. Instead, the bigger challenge came from gameplay.
The team wanted to make the game work properly, especially its mix of shooting and hacking.

Shooting and hacking had to work together
Pragmata combines shooter mechanics with a system where players hack enemies during combat.
CAPCOM already has experience with shooting systems. However, adding hacking on top of active combat created a bigger challenge.
According to the article, this part required repeated fixes, testing, and revisions before the team finally reached a satisfying result.
The long early reveal also raised expectations. The team wanted to make sure the final game came out as strong as possible.
Pragmata taking longer because of gameplay makes sense. A flashy concept is easy to sell, but a hacking system that actually feels good during combat is a different beast. At least now, the delay sounds less scary and more like stubborn polish.
