Granblue Fantasy Relink Endless Ragnarok Preview

Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok is almost here, and Cygames is preparing a major expansion that feels much larger than a simple content update.

ThisIsGame Thailand recently had the chance to attend a media preview hosted with Cygames Singapore, where creative director Tetsuya Fukuhara and director Sanshiro Hidaka introduced the new content. We also had the opportunity to try some of the expansion’s new features ahead of release.

For players who enjoyed the original Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Endless Ragnarok looks like a strong reason to return to the Sky Realm.

Before jumping into the expansion, it is worth remembering how far Granblue Fantasy: Relink has come.

The action RPG first launched in 2024 and brought the long-running Granblue Fantasy franchise into a full 3D adventure format. Players explore the Sky Realm, take on quests, fight massive enemies, and choose from a large roster of characters with different combat styles.

According to the developers, Granblue Fantasy: Relink has already sold more than 2 million copies. That success helps explain why Cygames is now preparing a major expansion built for both returning players and newcomers.

Endless Ragnarok Adds Around 1.5 Times More Content

Endless Ragnarok was designed after the original game received several major updates. The team saw that players still wanted more content, so the expansion was created as a larger-scale response to that demand.

The expansion includes Chaos difficulty, new quests, new playable characters, balance adjustments for existing characters, and several quality-of-life improvements.

Cygames also says the total content volume is around 1.5 times larger compared to the original game, making this feel like a serious expansion rather than a small add-on.

For players who already cleared much of Relink’s content, Endless Ragnarok looks designed to extend the game’s life with more challenges and more systems to master.

Summons Add a New Layer to Battle

One of the biggest new features in Endless Ragnarok is the Summon system.

This feature lets players equip up to four special Summons that can join the party in battle. These Summons are immortal, which means players do not need to constantly protect them while fighting. Instead, they can focus on using them strategically during combat.

Some Summons can be controlled directly and fight alongside the party, while others act as support units. For example, certain Summons can provide healing or create barriers.

During the preview, this system immediately made battles feel more dynamic. Since players already control a four-character party, adding Summons on top of that gives combat more variety and creates new ways to approach enemy encounters.

Master Traits Expand Character Builds

Another major addition is Master Traits.

This system gives characters new upgrade options that can change how they perform in battle. During the preview, Gran had several trait choices that affected his combat role, including options that improved close-range attack power or shifted him toward a more supportive playstyle.

This gives players more room to customize how characters fit into a team.

For online co-op, Master Traits could become especially important because players may be able to build around specific party roles, damage styles, support needs, or boss strategies. It adds another layer of planning without making the system feel too complicated.

Conflux Is a Solo Roguelike-Style Mode

The preview also featured Conflux, a new solo-focused mode inspired by roguelike gameplay.

In Conflux, players progress through a series of randomized stages. A run may include crystal-collection objectives, timed enemy battles, boss encounters, and other changing situations. The mode appears to include around 10 to 12 stages per run, with checkpoints appearing every few stages.

After clearing each stage, players can choose a temporary Perk for that run. These Perks can increase attack power, improve durability, add shields, or provide other useful effects.

This structure makes Conflux feel different from standard quests. Instead of entering one mission and finishing quickly, players build momentum across multiple stages and adjust their strategy depending on the rewards and Perks they receive.

Gallanza and Eustace Feel Very Different

The preview also gave us a chance to try different characters in Conflux.

Gallanza stands out with a massive spear and powerful sweeping attacks, giving him a heavy, aggressive combat style. He feels strong in close range and can pressure enemies with large attack swings.

Eustace, on the other hand, plays as a ranged fighter using a rifle and reload mechanics. His style feels more technical and may require more skill from players who want to keep distance, manage attacks properly, and stay safe while dealing damage.

This variety is one of Granblue Fantasy: Relink’s strongest points. Each character feels distinct, and Endless Ragnarok seems ready to expand that further.

Conflux Could Fit Nintendo Switch 2 Very Well

Conflux also feels like a good match for Nintendo Switch 2.

While runs may take longer than some regular quests, the mode is easy to understand and allows players to pause or step away more naturally. That makes it a good fit for portable play, especially for players who want to enjoy longer solo sessions without needing to commit to online matchmaking every time.

The expansion also marks Granblue Fantasy: Relink’s first arrival on Nintendo Switch 2, giving more players a chance to enter the game on a new platform.

The World Looks Like a Serious Boss Fight

The preview ended with a look at The World, one of the new bosses added in Endless Ragnarok.

This enemy is inspired by tarot card imagery and appears to be one of the expansion’s major threats. During battle, The World can summon cards that players must destroy before the boss uses them for buffs or to summon additional monsters.

The developers also teased that The World normally has three different forms, and players may need to face all three forms in a single battle.

That means players should prepare their Perfect Guard timing and team strategy before taking on this fight.

Release Date and Platforms

Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok is scheduled to launch on July 9, 2026.

The expansion is coming to PlayStation 5 and PC, while Granblue Fantasy: Relink will also make its first appearance on Nintendo Switch 2. New players can visit the store pages now, with both standard and special editions available depending on platform and region.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok feels like a meaningful expansion for players who wanted more reasons to keep playing. Summons make battles more flexible, Master Traits give characters more build options, Conflux adds solo replay value, and bosses like The World look ready to test player skill. If the full release delivers the same energy as the preview, Endless Ragnarok could become the update that brings Relink back into the spotlight.
