The summer heat is rising in Netmarble’s character-collecting mobile idle RPG, The King of Fighters AFK. Following previous seasonal updates, the developer has officially rolled out a brand-new wave of content for its Summer Festival, bringing a highly anticipated version of an iconic SNK heroine into the pixel-art arena.
Players can dive into the celebration starting this week, featuring fresh characters, thematic minigames, and extensive check-in rewards designed to boost team combat power.
Mai Shiranui Cools Down the Battlefield in Aqua Splash Style
The headline of the latest update is the arrival of the new Legend Seasonal Fighter, Mai Shiranui (Aqua Splash). Reimagined in a special summer-themed style, Mai showcases flashy combat animations using a massive fan to deliver high-impact attacks while exuding her signature charm.
Mai Shiranui (Aqua Splash) possesses the unique [Rush] synergy, adding versatile tactical options for team building. Players can acquire this limited-time variant through a dedicated pick-up event that runs from July 9 until July 22.
Summer Minigames and Upcoming Legend Rewards
Alongside Mai’s debut, the update introduces Kensou’s Dumpling Delivery, an engaging swing-action minigame where players deliver dumplings while riding a rope to earn daily rewards. Netmarble has also outlined a clear roadmap for subsequent summer events scheduled throughout July and August.
The Lucky Elpy event, running from July 13 to July 17, will give players a shot at recruiting the Legend Supporter Lenny Creston. This will be followed closely by the Splashy Vacation event from July 16 to July 29, which introduces the adorable Legend Pets Umine and Bellybear. Additionally, a Hot Summer! Attendance event will run from July 16 to August 19, offering login bonuses such as an Origin and DNA 5-Selection Chest and a Pick-up Legend Fighter Selection Ticket.
