Mr. Karate Returns to South Town in FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves Season 2
SNK Corporation has announced that Mr. Karate, the next DLC fighter for FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves Season 2, will become playable on May 27, 2026.
The legendary fighter with the tengu mask now returns to South Town, but there seems to be a strange twist this time. His voice carries what sounds like an Italian accent, adding another layer of mystery to one of SNK’s most memorable masked warriors.
The Mask of Kyokugen Returns
Mr. Karate first appeared in ART OF FIGHTING in 1992 as a powerful final boss. Behind that original mask was Takuma Sakazaki, founder of the Kyokugen Karate fighting style.
However, Takuma was not the only fighter to carry the name. His son Ryo Sakazaki also used the title in FATAL FURY: WILD AMBITION, giving rise to Mr. Karate II and establishing a second generation of the masked identity.
Now, 25 years later, the legendary masked warrior steps back into the Fatal Fury franchise. His real identity once again remains a mystery. What is clear, however, is that he brings the intense power of Kyokugen Karate along with mechanics inspired by Art of Fighting, including Razz and Spirit Charge.

Mr. Karate is a mysterious martial arts master wearing a tengu mask. His name has long remained in the memories of fighters across South Town, where many have feared his brutal strength.
He commands overwhelming power and refined skill through Kyokugen Karate, a style so dangerous that only Marco Rodrigues may be able to stand against it on equal ground. Any battle that ends in defeat against this masked fighter often reaches a savage conclusion. The opponent before him is not merely a man, but a force with the ferocity of a tiger.
New Stories in Arcade Mode and EOST
Mr. Karate will feature new story content in both Arcade Mode and EOST, also known as Episodes of South Town.
In EOST, players can follow Mr. Karate’s entertaining journey through South Town as he searches for worthy fighters to exchange blows with. The question is simple: who will be fortunate enough to reach the peak of strength?
In Arcade Mode, Mr. Karate encounters hungry wolves while searching for a mysterious martial art. What waits for him at the final stage, and what test lies at the end of his path?
Legend Edition Brings the Full Fight Together
SNK also highlights FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves Legend Edition, which includes the base game together with Season Pass 1 and Season Pass 2.
The Legend Edition is now available for $49.99 / €49.99. This version gives players access to current and upcoming DLC fighters through future updates, making it a complete choice for both newcomers and experienced players.
Season Pass 2 includes six fighters, with one new character planned each month. The lineup features popular names from Fatal Fury, including Kim Jae Hoon, Nightmare Geese, Blue Mary, and Wolfgang Krauser. It also includes the newly announced Mr. Karate and Kenshiro from FIST OF THE NORTH STAR.
