Resident Evil Generation Pack tested on Switch 2 with strong performance

Resident Evil Generation Pack tested on Switch 2
The Resident Evil Generation Pack has drawn attention from players eager to see how the horror series performs on Nintendo Switch 2.
The bundle includes three titles from the franchise: Resident Evil VII: Biohazard, Resident Evil Village, and Resident Evil Requiem.
A detailed performance test conducted by Digital Foundry reveals how each title runs on the new console.
Resident Evil VII performance
Resident Evil VII performs well overall on Switch 2.
When played on a TV, the game runs at 1080p resolution upscaled from 720p and offers a visual experience comparable to the PlayStation 4 version. In handheld mode the resolution drops to 432p, but the game maintains a stable 60 FPS frame rate.
This actually surpasses the original console release in terms of frame rate stability, although some scenes may appear slightly brighter due to less deep black levels compared to other versions.
Resident Evil Village performance
Performance for Resident Evil Village is slightly less stable.
The game targets 60 FPS, but during intense scenes the frame rate can drop to around 40 FPS. Inside buildings where fewer objects are rendered, the frame rate tends to stabilize.
Like Resident Evil VII, the resolution is upscaled. Some visual effects such as falling snow appear less detailed, and fog rendering behaves differently from other console versions. Smoke particles may appear more granular.
Despite these limitations, the graphics quality is reportedly stronger than the version on Xbox Series S, though the frame rate stability is slightly lower.
Resident Evil Requiem performance
Performance details for Resident Evil Requiem had already been partially revealed before the full test.
When docked, the game runs at a resolution upscaled from 540p, while handheld mode uses an upscaled 360p base resolution. However, thanks to NVIDIA DLSS, the image remains relatively sharp.
The target frame rate is 60 FPS, though heavy action sequences can drop to around 35 FPS. In handheld mode, frame rates may occasionally fall into the 20 FPS range.
Lighting and shadow effects are less advanced than on other platforms, and hair rendering uses simplified models instead of individual physics based strands.
Bundle value and release details
The Resident Evil Generation Pack is available both physically and digitally for about 69 USD.
The bundle includes the standard edition of Resident Evil Requiem along with a bonus Grace Apocalypse skin. It also contains the Gold Edition versions of Resident Evil VII and Resident Evil Village, complete with all DLC content.
The bundle will be available until March 31, offering players the chance to pick up three Resident Evil titles in one package.
