Silent Hill f Story Remains Intact Despite 40% Content Removal

Silent Hill f Devs Confirm 40% of Content Was Cut Due to Budget

In a surprising reveal, the development team behind Silent Hill f has confirmed that nearly 40% of the game’s original content was either removed or significantly altered during development due to budget constraints.

Core Story Remains Untouched

Despite the heavy cuts, director Al Yang shared that the main narrative remains intact, preserving around 60% of the original script written by renowned writer Ryukishi07.

The script reportedly went through three to four revisions, but the core themes, character identities, and overall direction have stayed consistent since the very first draft.

What Was Removed?

Some of the cut content included entire sections that would have expanded character relationships and world-building.

One notable example is a school setting, where characters like Sho, Rinko, and Hinako were originally meant to interact and reflect on their past. The concept was inspired by classic locations like Midwich School, but adapting such a setting with different architectural styles—and the added development cost—ultimately led to its removal.

A Necessary Trade-Off

The decision highlights the realities of modern game development, where even major titles must balance creative ambition with budget limitations.

While some fans may wonder what could have been, the team reassures that the essence of Silent Hill f remains unchanged, focusing on psychological horror and emotional storytelling.

About Silent Hill f

As she struggles to survive, players will uncover the dark secrets behind the town while confronting both external horrors and inner conflicts.
