RF ONLINE NEXT Launches Chapter 10 with New Tempest MAU and Upcoming Core World Mode

Netmarble has rolled out a major content update for its sci-fi MMORPG RF ONLINE NEXT, introducing Chapter 10, a brand-new progression system, the Legendary MAU Tempest, and a series of limited-time events celebrating the game’s first 50 days since its global launch.
Chapter 10 expands the game’s storyline into the frozen land of Severia, where players can explore new locations including the Severin Research Base, Nebel Mine, and the Pumus Quarantine Zone. The update also adds new main, side, and guild quests while expanding Collection Progress, Exploration Reports, and Memory Chips. Players can also challenge two new field bosses, MPF-01 Kassel and Sarpedon.
A new Matter Conversion system has also been introduced, allowing players to exchange four to six unbound Rare-grade or higher equipment pieces for a chance to obtain gear of a higher tier or grade. The system also offers exclusive Circlet equipment and collectible items that can only be acquired through this feature, providing additional progression options and better equipment utilization.
The update also debuts the Legendary MAU, Tempest. Designed as a long-range combat unit, Tempest excels at wide-area attacks, freezing enemies, and dealing bonus damage to frozen targets, adding a new layer of strategic gameplay to battlefield encounters.
Looking ahead, Netmarble confirmed that the upcoming Core World mode will introduce large-scale cross-server PvPvE gameplay for players level 60 and above. Scheduled to run every other week, the mode will bring together up to 450 players from multiple servers to battle the World Boss Krator. Before facing the boss, each team must first defeat Krator’s Guardian. The server with the highest cumulative participation score across all battlefields will be declared the winner and receive special buffs that provide advantages in both combat and hunting.
To celebrate both the major update and the game’s first 50 days since its global release, Netmarble is hosting several limited-time events across Asia 2, Europe, and the Americas. These include New Player and Returning Player Check-In Events, Celebration Missions, Reward Events, and the “50-Day Festival: Rakan Pirates’ Revenge” event, offering valuable progression rewards throughout the event period.
RF ONLINE NEXT is the official sequel to RF Online, set in a vast sci-fi universe where machines have replaced humanity. The game builds upon the original with its flexible Bio Suit class-switching system, iconic battle machines such as MAUs and Launchers, the return of Animus summons, and fast-paced real-time combat that blends strategic depth with action.
More information about the Chapter 10 update and future content can be found through the game’s official website and community channels.
