Ragnarok Online 3 Devs Reveal Bold PC-First Plans

Ragnarok Online 3 is back in the spotlight after its latest developer update revealed major changes based on player feedback from the earlier Pioneer Test.

Producer Yu, the producer overseeing the project, released a new video through the game’s main community channel. The update shared the current development direction for Ragnarok Online 3, also known as RO3, after the team spent the past 6 months reviewing feedback and rebuilding several key systems.

The team wants RO3 to become a major new chapter that can carry the legendary Ragnarok Online series for the next 20 years. The developers also revealed plans for a future Technical Test, which will first open in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau.

RO3 is being built with PC as the main platform

One of the biggest points from the developer update is clear: Ragnarok Online 3 is not just a mobile game ported to PC.

During the first test, many players felt the game still carried too much of a mobile-game identity. The development team responded by rebuilding the PC version with PC gameplay as the main priority. However, the game will still support cross-platform play with mobile devices.

The PC interface will allow players to customize windows more freely. Menus, UI elements, and chat windows can be resized and moved across the screen, giving players more control over how they organize their play space. This structure will give returning players a clearer way to rejoin the game and catch up with the active community. It also helps prevent older players from feeling permanently ahead of everyone else.

The first season will carry a music theme. Some 3rd Job skills will receive refreshed effects inspired by rhythm, sound, and graffiti-style visuals. The goal is to make class builds feel new without destroying the original identity of each job.
